Our Process

At Performance Therapy, we pride ourselves on finding the right solution for your chronic pain. As the only Integrative Diagnosis providers in the Carolinas, we offer advanced assessment and treatment solutions. Most of our patients have seen multiple providers before finding the real cause and solution for their pain. Not everyone is right for our care, but patients leave our office knowing what is wrong and what needs to be done moving forward!

How our process works

Step 1
Exam
Step 1 - Exam

This visit typically lasts 30 minutes. We begin with a thorough case history and functional exam to determine the root cause of your pain. This assessment allows us to establish your prognosis and lay out a treatment plan. It is our aim to include you in your care through communication and education.

Step 2
Treatment
Step 2 - Treatment

Over a series of visits, we apply the most effective, hands-on treatment using Manual Adhesion Release and Instrument Adhesion Release to help resolve your muscle and joint problems by increasing ranges of motion and improving strength. Our goal is to get you better as quickly as possible.

Step 3
Retest, Case Management
Step 3 - Retest and Case Management

Assess treatment changes, manage load, and increase strength to reduce and eliminate symptoms to the maximum conservative care allows!

Testimonial

Scott Harber - Ultramarathon Runner

"I started working with Mike Danenberg about a year ago, after developing significant knee pain that set me back in my training and causing me to miss my "A" race. I had seen a number of medical professionals and treatments, which left me with big expenses but no progress. Within a short time under his guidance, I have bounced back better than ever, achieving several racing goals."

"During the Pinhoti 100 a couple weeks ago, I was really struggling. I thought about what Mike taught me in regards to racing running form and applied his techniques. Around mile 55, I started to have IT band pain around my knee. I immediately recognized that bad form was causing the problem and adjusted by leaning forward (and going fast!) I ran relatively pain-free from that point on and finished with the most incredible PR yet. I believed I could crack a 24 hour finish, hoped to come in around 22, and was shocked to see my overall time of 21:31:56."

"Mike and the staff at Performance Therapy accurately assesses form and technique as indicators of potential injury. It's not always easy work, sometimes challenging to correct bad habits, but it has helped me be a better-informed and mindful athlete. I owe much of that to Mike's keen eye, excellent advice and continual feedback."
